Co-founders Anthony Traina and Calvin DiNicolo have a shared background in design and construction, and Anthony has spent years working and living in the tropical rain forests of Central and South America. The connections and experience that he developed there allow us to provide the truly one-of-a-kind forest products that we import.
Hailing from Ormond Beach, FL, Calvin has been living in Gainesville since he came to study at the University of Florida in 2006. A designer, builder, metalworker, and a handyman, he is a jack of all trades, and master of none. After finishing his Masters of Architecture at UF, he founded DinoLab Equipment in 2014, a business specializing in surplus and salvaged lab equipment, furniture, and industrial hardware. He is an avid boater and fisherman, and if he’s not in the warehouse, you’re likely to find him on the water in Cedar Key or St Augustine.
Born and raised among the Banyan trees of Coconut Grove, FL, Anthony Traina first moved to Gainesville in 2004. After completing his degree at UF, the winds blew him to Colombia, where he co-founded and ran a successful English-language teaching company in Bogota. After many years in Colombia, his interest in building construction and sustainable forestry took him to Costa Rica, where he studied at the CATIE Academy. Since receiving his Masters degree in Sustainable Forestry, he has put his knowledge to use around the USA and around the world. His work has taken him to Utah, California, Massachusetts, and Costa Rica, where he participated in both the design and construction of timber frame and conventional buildings.
